Contract money: schedule, adjustments, and settlement

Pollination money rarely arrives as one clean check. Contracts are commonly split - half on placement, half at petal fall - and the final number moves with extra charges (an unscheduled move the grower asked for), credits (short delivery), broker fees, and per-frame bonus or penalty clauses. The contract's Payments card tracks all of it against what the grower has actually paid.

Set up a payment schedule from presets (50/50 on placement and petal fall is one tap) or custom milestones with due dates. Recorded payments fill the earliest milestones first, so each milestone reads Paid, Partial, Upcoming, or OVERDUE at a glance - and an overdue milestone flags the contract in the contracts list and sends a notification. Charges and credits adjust the total due without touching the base rate, and each can be waived or removed.

Deal terms live on the contract form: an optional broker name and fee percent, per-frame bonus/penalty rates that suggest an adjustment once verified frame averages come in from delivery verification, and subcontracted hives (boxes you rent from another beekeeper to fill a contract) - which the season timeline correctly treats as capacity you did not pull from your own yards.

If a contract dies early - a frost takes the bloom, the orchard sells - record a settlement: the agreed final amount, with remaining milestones waived automatically. The invoice PDF carries the whole story: schedule with status, adjustments, deal terms, payments received, and balance due - and the contract's invoice status tracks it from Not invoiced through Paid, including Payment overdue and Disputed when a grower pushes back. When a season ends well, Renew duplicates the contract for next year with dates shifted forward, the same terms pre-filled, and last season's per-farm loss numbers in view so you can reprice or walk away with data.
