Note
This is different from an apiary's location. An apiary pin places the whole yard on the map; a hive's GPS pinpoints that one colony so Yard AR can lock onto it individually.
Each hive can carry its own latitude/longitude. Yard AR uses it to label that colony with its name, distance, and compass direction - and to sort hives nearest-first - as you walk up. Hives without coordinates show "No GPS" until you set them.
There are two ways to set a hive's location:
Before you start
- A Premium plan (Yard AR)
- For the most accurate fix, be standing at the hive

Option A - on the hive form: open "Hive location (optional)"
In Add hive or Edit hive, scroll to the Hive location section.

Tap "Use device location" (or type the coordinates)
Grant location permission and it fills Latitude/Longitude from your phone. You can also type them, or tap the clear (X) to remove them. Save the hive.

The hive stores its coordinates, and Yard AR auto-identifies it the next time you approach.
Tip
In Yard AR, hives with GPS are sorted nearest-first, and the per-hive list has a Set GPS button if you prefer to tag them from there.
