Two power features speed up a busy inbox: saved views (bookmarked filters) and Action history (undo).

Save a view and set a default
After filtering the inbox, Save current view; in Saved views you can Make default, Pin to inbox, Rename, or Delete. The default view is what the inbox opens to.
